Cytomatrix is a development stage biotechnology company focused on researching, developing and commercializing powerful new therapeutics based on the use of cells to help treat diseases. Founded in 1996, the Company's core technology is a unique cell growth technology termed "The CytomatrixTM" (link) that enables cells to grow in three dimensions.
Our initial focus is on diseases in which hematopoietic (blood) cells such as stem cells and lymphocytes play a role. In addition, the Company's patented technology platform has commercial applicability in two near-term markets in which the Company plans to participate: 1) cell culture devices for bench level research and 2) pilot- and manufacturing-scale bioreactors for commercial production of proteins, cells and other high value-added similar products. We intend to develop, manufacture and commercialize a wide range of value-added products that exploit the advantages inherent in The CytomatrixTM technology platform for cell growth applications. Toward that end, we have developed a series of prototype devices currently being evaluated for use in our three main markets: cell therapy/tissue engineering, basic science/clinical research, and pilot and production-scale manufacturing.
